Nineteen Stretch Goals!

Just seeing that typed out is astounding. Nineteen stretch goals is well beyond what we thought we could reach, but all of these are falling into place. With the previous addition of the Once More Unto the Breach book of compiled Mission Folios, you will be lacking any adventure ideas. We unlocked Jonathan Meadows and his Mission Folio and another adversary for the core book, and we've moved right on to Brandon Daugenbaugh who will be unlocked at $24,000. 

Brandon will be diving into the first of a few missions exploring the naval elements of Never Going Home. The characters are sent to a small fishing village to investigate sightings of the ship the HMS Paradise...except the ship was previously sunk by German sea mines. I'm really excited about this, especially since players will be able to tie this together with some of the upcoming missions for entire sessions at sea.

500 Backers

We also reached a tremendous milestone of 500 backers. Our added backer stretch goals mean we can bring some added talent to the project and I'm thrilled to discuss this next one. Alicia Lutes is a long-time friend and one of the best writers I know. If that name sounds familiar, she was a managing editor for the Nerdist where she created and hosted the first few seasons of "Fangirling" and now is writing for IGN and Rotten Tomatoes. 

Alicia will be taking the soldiers from the battlefields of Europe to the shores of Lake Tanganyika in German East Africa.

You and your battalion are on a mission: help map out the strategic route to bring in Allied forces' boats—the HMS Mimi and Toutou—to Lake Tanganyika, a German stronghold and strategically important boundary in the war. Only...the streams on which General Spicer-Simson was relying to transport the boats the rest of the way have mysteriously all dried up. It's confusing...the water was there only days ago! And odder still...it had very recently rained. When a small local child appears and motions for you to follow her, you do, leading the team to a mysterious cave close to the Lake...and not on any of your maps. Once inside, it is clear that there is something here that does not want war to happen upon its waters. And it will do whatever it takes to protect its lands.

Another Goal Unlocked

You all are fantastic! We managed to unlock our $22,000 Stretch Goal which means we unlocked the Mission Folio by the talented Jodie Brandt. I love the stuff he's done for Bloat Games, and we're so glad to have him on the team. I bet a lot of you were watching this goal for another reason. We also managed to unlock the Gamemaster Screen! This trifold screen will now be included in all Deluxe tiers and above, adding even more value to those pledge levels!

Next up in Jonathan Meadows. Jonathan is a horror aficionado and a history buff, and was among the first people we discussed this game with. He leaped at the opportunity to write a Mission Folio for us, where he'll be covering the mysteries surrounding a dark ritual which is pulling more of the Other into this realm  as a secret weapon in one of the largest battles of the war.

As we keep moving through towards the end of the campaign, keep spreading the word. We wouldn't be at this point without all of you and your support, and we're excited to see what this week has in store.

Last Seven Days!

We've made it through what has proven to be an astounding campaign thus far, and have unlocked yet another Stretch Goal. Dieter Zimmerman is going to be cranking out an excellent Mission where the soldiers must investigate a military hospital away from the front lines where even the perception of safety is being eroded. I'm looking forward to getting it out of his head and to a table so I can run it! Another Adversary has also been unlocked, but this next goal brings another special item to the Deluxe tiers.

Jodie Brandt of the QuestWise podcast and YouTube channel will be working on a Mission Folio if we reach $22,000. Jodie is an excellent GM and has written a number of things for Dark Places and Demogorgons, and other OSR titles. Soldiers will have to explore the spread of corruption and something new which seems to be causing it to do so more rapidly.

At this level, we'll also be unlocking the GM screen for all Deluxe Tier backers and above. This will have many of the tables, charts, and skills right at the fingertips and have some cool art from Charles to really drive the feel of the setting home.

New Goals Revealed

We have no idea how far this will go during this last week, but we wanted to make sure you all know that we've planned far ahead. We're revealing our goals up to $30,000 and hope we can reach them as we all spread the word through the last days of the campaign. 

We've lined up some fantastic writers and designers, and added two new Deluxe Tier physical goals.

• Post Card set: This goal will add a set of three postcards featuring art from Charles-Ferguson Avery, and can be used as in-game artifacts or as bookmarks. If unlocked, they will also be made available as add-ons to all backers.
• Tome of Corrupted Beasts (Not the Final Title): This field manual will be a physical book added to all Deluxe Tiers and above and will collect all the unlocked adversaries and  a few new ones into a bestiary with notes, descriptions, combat details and flavor texts from the soldiers in the field who confront them.

$20,000 and Beyond

WOW!

We've passed $20,000 through all of your support and belief in our project. This is absolutely amazing, and we're excited to continue on with you through the last week of this project. The next few days will help us continue upward, and we hope to see a large push in the last 48 hours. Hold on, because it will be a hell of a ride. 

As we passed our most recent goal, we unlocked the Mission Folio Taylor White is writing about the continued rumors of the German Corpse Factory. This is one of the creepier rumors swirling around the front lines during the Great War, and if anyone can do do justice to the horror of the legend, it's Taylor.

We also unlocked an additional set of dice for all DELUXE level backers and higher. These Occult Dice are being designed by Charles Ferguson-Avery right now, and we should have something to show you later this week. 

Dieter Zimmerman is up next and will be writing about a military hospital away from the front which is causing soldiers to relive their most traumatic moments from the war, which are now spreading to the staff, visitors, and anyone who comes in.

Deluxe Tiers and Add-Ons

As we've progressed through these Stretch Goals, we've managed to add a lot of value to the Deluxe levels and above. Even though we've added the Mission Folios and Adversaries to all backers in some form, the Deluxe backers are getting some extra perks, and we just want to highlight them here in case anyone has missed them or is weighing backing at a changing their pledge to take advantage of the Deluxe tiers. 

In addition to the book, dice, cards, and PDF, the Deluxe backers also receive:

• A print copy of the Character/Campaign Journal
• A print copy of Once More Unto the Breach, the collected Mission Folios from all of the unlocked Stretch Goals. (All backers will receive this in PDF)
• A set of Occult Dice. These custom dice are Wet Ink exclusives and will only be available to backers or directly from Wet Ink Games at conventions.

This list could grow with the addition of the following items, which we have yet to unlock:

• The Never Going Home GM Screen
• The Book of Whispers which will include more information about the whispers, more levels of mystic knowledge, how to play as one of the completely corrupted beings, and much more. 

As far as add-ons go, any of the items in the campaign can be added on to your pledge in the pledge manager, or by increasing your pledge level now to help us unlock more goals. We especially want to point out the Armistice Day print you can order which is another item which is only available through this campaign and from Wet Ink Games at conventions.

Another goal down!

As we reached $19,000 today, we unlocked Michele Lee's excellent Mission Folio about the Angels of Mons. What are these beings? Are they benevolent or forces of evil fighting for their own reasons? Are they simply hallucinations cause by the horrors of battle? All ill be revealed, and we can't wait! We also unlocked another adversary for the core book! This group of antagonists is going to be so full of great things to throw at your players.

As we move towards $20,000, we'll be working to unlock the Mission Folio by Taylor White. This guy is the creator of some of the best horror books on the market. He was my co-writer on Rifts: Madhaven and Triax 2, wrote his own Powered by the Apocalypse game called Lonely World (seriously, check this out), wrote Chaos Earth: Resurrection and is now the primary writer of the Dead Reign zombie series. This guy knows horror and will be tackling the rumor of the German Kadaververwertungsanstalt or "Corpse Factory" (loosely translated). We don't yet know exactly how he is going to tackle it, but we know it's going to be amazing. We hope to share more about his concept in the next day or two.

More Dice?

Since $20,000 is such a big milestone for the project, we wanted to do something really special for all of our backers. We're having Charles Ferguson-Avery design a new set of dice based on his runic magic symbols he has been using throughout his art. These special dice will ONLY be available through this campaign and in very limited supply from Wet Ink Games at conventions. He's working on the design now, but we'll show them as soon as they're available. 

This will be added for free to all DELUXE level tiers and higher (including the Soldier's Journal tier), but will be available to all backers if they want to add additional sets of these dice to their pledge.
