Fulfillment Begins!
almost 5 years ago – Wed, Jul 31, 2019 at 10:59:09 PM

Thank you!

We've said it before, and we'll say it again. None of this would have been possible without the help of you, our awesome backers! We have a long way to go before fulfillment is all wrapped up, but we're lucky to have your support every step of the way.

Digital Fulfillment

There was a slight issue this morning that almost ruined our pre-GenCon surprise for you all. When Brandon set up the digital files on DriveThruRPG, he accidentally set two of them to go live automatically which lead to two of the sourcebooks being made available to the public a few hours before they were sent to you all. While this caused a little confusion, we want to let you know that now all four books have been delivered to you via DriveThruRPG download links, and are now available for purchase to the public.

Physical Fulfillment

Sorting has begun as we've started to get the print books in hand, and we're on track to have them all shipped out in August. This is our priority once we get back from GenCon.

GenCon (Booth 132)

Wet Ink Games will have a presence at the Indie Game Developers Network booth (132) at GenCon. Come say hi, talk about games, shake hands, fist bump, whatever. We'd love to see you and personally thank you for your support of our projects and let you know about some things coming down the line!

Special Announcements!

We'll be making special announcements every day of GenCon, so be sure to follow us on Facebook if you haven't. We have some exciting news about some fun upcoming projects, and that will be the place to hear them first.

The End is in Sight!
almost 5 years ago – Fri, Jun 28, 2019 at 09:46:31 PM

Today marks 100 years since the signing of the Treaty of Versailles, which officially ended the First World War. That seems a decent excuse to bring you this update.

We are nearing the end of our journey to make Never Going Home a reality. The core book is now laid out and will be heading to the printer soon. Check out the images below to see the awesome job Knox is doing. The Tome of Corrupted Beasts is already at the printer. The texts for The Book of Whispers and the massive adventure collection Once More Unto the Breach are complete and will be getting the same layout treatment next.

Cheers,

Matt

(NOTE: All images and layout are still in process, and not yet final.)

Tome of Corrupted Beasts:

Production Update!
almost 5 years ago – Wed, May 29, 2019 at 10:14:13 PM

Here is where we stand:

As we get ready to push forward into June, we wanted to let you know where we stand on production.

1) Tome of Corrupted Beasts: This book has been laid out, and some feedback given to the layout director. It should be wrapped up over then next few days.

2) Never Going Home Core Book: This has been sent to layout and will be knocked out as soon as the Tome is wrapped up.

3) Once More Unto the Breach: The creative director is wrapping up edits on the last of the adventures (and there are a TON), so this books is going to be a little larger than we thought. This is a good thing though, as it will give you and your gaming groups tons of missions and hours of enjoyment. This should be wrapped up this week and then sent to layout.

4) Book of Whispers: A bunch of new whispers and artifacts are being added to the book and we have some really cool art going into the book. This is being wrapped up as soon as we're done with the Mission Book.

5) Dice, Cards, Art Books, Journals, Prints etc: All ancillary products are wrapped up and in house, just waiting for the rest of the printed materials to get here before we can start shipping them out.

We are still on track for our estimated shipping timeline (Beginning to ship in August) and we'll have people packing up and shipping packages as (and ideally before) we're representing this line and other Wet Ink Games products at GenCon.

Tenebria

The next project for Wet Ink Games, Tenebria will be coming to Kickstarter this fall, and we wanted to give you a brief development update there too. The art and manuscript are all taking shape and should be fully assembled by the end of the summer. We want that project to be fairly self-contained, so any stretch goal additions of new adversaries, alternate settings, adventure hooks, etc will all be contained in the main book. This means we'll be able to have a quicker turnaround time, and get a great, meaty book in your hands, ideally before the new year.

Other Projects

Wet Ink Games has a ton of other projects in the works, which we'll be announcing soon, including some great things coming from our previously announced partnership with Eric Bloat of Bloat Games (Dark Places & Demogorgons). Stay tuned for some exciting announcements, including an anticipated GenCon announcement which will blow to doors off of anything we've done before!

This is why you proof! (and other cool projects)

Card, Dice, Screens. Oh my!

As we write this, the dice are officially in, the cards have been ordered with the correction, and the GM screens have officially been ordered, but not without a hiccup of their own. We always proof our products, and we can't stress enough just how important that step is so large, expensive mistakes aren't made (especially when working with new vendors). Just take a look at this image of our GM screen proof and see if you can spot the error:

This obvious error has been corrected and our new screens are in production right now.

What about books?

Work continues to wrap these up. Here is where we stand:

  • The core book is with the editor, and should be wrapped up soon.
  • The Tome of Corrupted Beasts is getting completed this week and will probably be the first to layout.
  • The Book of Ancient Whispers (slight name change) needs a few more bits of content, but is otherwise going strong.
  • Once More Unto the Breach is going through another pass of edits to make sure all the mission folios are standardized in regards to game terms, templates etc.

Projects we love!

We were thrilled to assemble such a talented group of creators to work on Never Going Home and all the related titles, but their work most definitely didn't stop with us! A number of them have current Kickstarter projects of their own, and we want to share them with every one of you.

The Blackest of Deaths by Eric Bloat

This brutal OSR game only has about 24 hours left, so you should get in on it if you can! Eric has created a great game full of perils for your characters to encounter, but just know that your character WILL die, and that's just part of the fun.

Afterlife: Wandering Souls by Elizabeth Chaipraditkul

This beautiful fantasy game puts players in the role of someone who has died but finds themselves in a strange afterlife, with no memories of their past life. Liz has taken an awesome, unique concept and taken it to an amazing place.

The World Between by Sarah Orr Aten

Sarah wrote many of our fiction pieces for Never Going Home and the other books, and has launched a Kickstarter for her fantasy time-travel novel over a decade in the making.

Production continues!
about 5 years ago – Wed, May 01, 2019 at 12:18:05 AM

Hey everyone. Production has been moving forward on all fronts, and we wanted to post a quick update to let you know where we are.

First, the core book has been sent to editing. This is great news and a HUGE step! This is the top priority and will be in layout the second we get it back! The book of adventures, Once More Unto the Breach, is receiving final cleanup this week and will be going to layout too. The Tome of Corrupted Beasts and the Book of Whispers will be prioritized next.

The dice have been shipped by the producer and will be in our hands sometime next week, and the cards should be in about the same time. We had ordered our proof deck and only had one slight change, which was a minor resizing of the card back image so there is more of a border. You can see what we mean in the images below. Charles did an amazing job on all the custom art for the face cards, and we’re absolutely blown away.

The GM screen will be sent to production by the end of the week, after a minor delay.
